So, lets get the spankin over early, i was letting my grandson help with an oil change, a quart got away from him and covered the motor. I wiped up what i could, used the engine degreaser spray, lightly sprayed the degreaser off with the hose. then reving up issues!!!. Now i've allready opened all the clip connectors arround the throttle body to dry but none seemed wet, switched the MAF and it still idles fine, push the gas, revs but goes only 2-3 K and stops, liked it's dying and going back to idling fine. any help????

Its a M50, when you try to rev it up it will go 2-3K, die, and return to a perfect idle. I just did the MAF swap cause i had an extra, Thanks

Maybe oils went into the sparkplugs hole and it missfire. I would check the plug, even if its not the problem some oil may have infiltrated there.

I dont see what can be the problem. Surely someone will chime in and help more than I do.

Try this.

Degrease again, spray off with hose, then spray everything that looks electrical with WD40. I assume the water from the hose may have gotten somewhere it shouldn't have, and the WD40 will displace the water.

no problem. It's what wd40 was invented for. That and spraying on your fishing lures !!

Oil is extremely detrimental to the ignition systems.

I would definitely check to see if oil got down the sparkplug tubes. Take the coils off to see. And since you're there pull the apart plugs and 'read' them. They are a good indicator of what is going on in your engine internally.

My plugs were sitting in 1-2 inches of oil when I bought it, and it still ran.

Did you leave a hose off - i.e. vacuum leak?
