I found an 840Ci FS in San Luis Obispo, CA at Smith Volvo.. After chatting with the person in charge of the sale, he offered to give me a small commission if I lead to the sale. Not that I wasn't going to post this car's info anyway on the forum :stickoutt but any extra cash to support my own e31 is good as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway, the skinny..
VIN: WBAEF6325SCC89530
Build Date: 05/94
Color: Orient blue & silver/white leather
Mileage: 151,151

Of note: the wood appears to be a veneer that was layered over the black plastic trim pieces. It is real wood and has a thick coat of laminate over it.

I have about 50 high-res photos showing detailed pictures of the car's various nuances. It looks mechanically sound, but a little rough around the edges in the interior (headliner, cracking wood laminate, I think my standards are high here). Back glass is also cracked pretty badly. Paint and body are straight and look great, other than a broken nose. I love mauritius...

They're asking $7900, but I'm sure they're willing to negotiate as well.

Feel free to PM/e-mail me or contact the seller directly:

Not a bad price for an e31 that would be a good starting point for an enthusiast. Usually a May 1994 build date would make it a 94 model year, and it's got the non-95 steering wheel, but I guess they started the 95s early! However this car is Orient Blue not Mauritius. Only one North American 840Ci was ordered in that color, and it is a much brighter blue.

The weird wood kit and e38 wheels would be the first on my list to go...This was my dream color combo! I wish it had been around years ago.

Thanks for the correction Olin, admittedly I just assumed it was mauritius because it looked so similar to me. It's being advertised as a '95, I posted the build date as well because that looked incorrect to me, should be a '94 by build date.

Wood kit definitely needs to go

Thanks for the expert 4-short information :stickoutt

I agree that the color combo is one of my favorites, if I had the choice originally, I would have gone with one of the blues

Shoot, I've got a mauritius now, I've had a montreal, need the orient to work on completing the series...

What's wrong with the wood? I like the wood!

Man I'm impressed how well these cars hold up when even just 'fairly well' attended to. This one appears (at least in the pix) to have been well taken car of.

I like the BMW wood, but I don't like peel-n-stick aftermarket kits...

Olin, it's not a peel n stick, it's a real wood laminate done just like the OEM piece actually, just done over the plastic parts. It also cracks, just like the OEM wood!
