i found myself a genuine bmw rear spoiler and had it painted yesterday. today when i picked up my car, i realized that the painted spoiler somehow looks shinnier than my original body panel.

the shop owner told me that since it's plastic, it absorbs paint different from metals...

does it suppose to look 1/2 shade level different? or i should ask the shop owner to repaint it?

Does your bumper look different from your hood? Get that ish repainted.

Shiney yes, different color, no. It should be the same shade as the car.

Id say get some documented second opinions, like going to different body shops, if they all say its off, get it repainted.

What color is the car? My dakar yellow differs slightly from plastic to metal. Its nothing you can see from a distance but under examination its noticeable.
