does inner tie rod arms mean that i should replace the control arms? im going to replace the inner and outer tie rods (both sides) but if i don't have to i don't want to spend the money right now.
im sorry i have been very sleepy as of late.
what i should have said is that i found that one of my inner tie rods are bad and i have to replace my tie rods so does that mean i have to or should replace my control arms ?

You provide a statement of intent, but no information.

have to and should are different.
The advantage of doing both at the same time is you save on only doing the alignment once - as opposed to if you just did the tie rods, paid for an alignment, then in 10k miles you LCAs need to be replaced. Poof goes another $100
If you have the money and haven't done them recently, do them.
I'm in the same dilema with my 325 - needs one balljoint - which then makes me want to do both LCAs...and then I want to do inner/outer tie rods while I'm there....and also want a z3 rack them if I'm doing those...
and might as well do RTABs while I'm getting an alignment too...and hell, I want new springs/dampers...which I should do first too.
now my $30 part turned into a $1500 fix.

If you replace just the tie-rods or tie-rod ends all you have to do is re-adjust the toe setting.
Save your money now because the front lower control arms and ball joints are probably just about due and at that time you will have to to the FCABs also and then get it properly aligned.
Cars are money pits. But you can decide when, where and how to throw it in.
