Hey everyone,
my seats are, lets just say, less then stellar . The last time I took the leather off to investigate a heating issue, some the metal bars that are in the padding came out and wont stay down. My question is am I basically boned and have to get new seats at some point or is there a way to get just the padding? Which would be more cost effective, new (used) seats (vaders or sport) or trying to get the padding and cover seperate? I have sport seats now (stupid lux editions lol ;)) .

You could buy another seat and take the foam from that one.

OR Recover them.

Then the question is , how much are you willing to spend?

Any good upholstery shop can fix them for you and recover them. Probably about 400-700 dollars a seat depending on the material you chose (leather or vinyl)

the sport seats (lux/sedan/328is) are functionally better than the vaders and they're lighter...they're also more comfortable

just buy a replacement one somewhere

I found a lux Mulberry color one for my car for $130 because there's no demand for them. Sellers basically have to capitulate to your offer when there's no other buyers out there for them

or you can go spend anywhere between 300 to 600 per vader
