So I was turned on to Forever black buy an old thread and decided to give it a try on my very faded trim. I have used Back to Black but it just fades off again in a couple of weeks. I am very pleased with the results, they look much newer and the process was super easy. Just clean the surface and apply the dye. I just need to touch up a few light spots. Here are some pics:

Looking good, I might give it a try too. I've been using the peanut oil trick and it works but dirt starts sticking to it over time.

ive always had great results with back to black.. the first few times you use it, it requires more than normal.. But once you use it consistently(every 3 or 4 washes) it only takes a small amount

Wurth For the Win!!! Its What Bmw Certified Collision Centers Use..
Its best to pull your Moldings before spraying them..
Back to black, forever black, etc is a temporary fix while the above will last for years..

I have used 303 Aerospace. It works amazingly well... actually gets into the plastic and restores whatever crap gets killed by UV. Or something slightly more technical... I'm tired.
Anyways, it works gud.

Believe it or not, WD40 works like a charm as well.

I *used* to use forever black. It's a mess... I swear it's just shoe polish.
I'm a big fan of Meguiar's trim detailer. It's a clear GEL, so your hands don't end up all black. And a bonus of the Meguiar's, it has a protective ingredient to help "moisturize" the plastic/mouldings. Unlike the FB which is just a dye.

i have also used this product.
it requires skill to put it on evenly, or at least that's what i noticed. but definitely worth it. its not a dressing, it's a dye - so it lasts a long, long time.

Most posts on this thread are discussing only one of two processes. I use both- Forever Black to place color (maybe annually) and 303 Aerospace to maintain richness after each wash when doing tires.

Get a small foam paint bursh and pour a little Forever Black in a small cup (applicator top just pulls off GENTLE) then 'paint' dye up your tires too!!
Great black tires & trim.
Don't forget to Q-Tip the door handle trim, washer nozzels, stock radio knobs, antenna gromet, windhield weather srtip, engine plastic, underhoor & trunk weather stripping.....
