View Full Version : Pick a color for my Style 5s.

When I first did them, the color was not meant to be permanent. Now that the car is parked, I can refinish them at my leasure but I don't have a color in mind yet. I still have some Oxford paint but I don't think it'd look good on the centers :dunno
Poke around in here to see how the car looks now

I kinda like em orange, to be honest.... They're... different. Either that, or a dark silver/light grey.

I'd vote for a gunmetal gray, kind of like DJ's Style 19s:

Funny story that. I went to the Rover dealer to get a price on a clutch slave because sometimes I have to pump the pedal for it to go into gear. the parts dude was so amazed I had a manual trans D1 that him and half of the service bay went out to look at it in disbelief.

I believe it. I passed on buying a sorta okay condition one for a good price because I thought I could find a nicer one. Now, I'm getting desperate to find a D1 5 speed period.

You DO realize that Stanceworks started here on bimmerforums, right? There are countless members with stanceworks sigs, and parodies of them. It's not advertising at all.

Are you lowering the car at all? If the centers are a different color than the lips- especially darker- it highlights the ride height (aka it creates another 'centering point' to show hoe high/low the car is. at current ride height I would not use separate center/lip colors.
I think a silvercenter /polished silver lip would look good regardless of ride height. Some cars can pull off colored wheels well- but an oxford green e34 can't. silver, gold, black, are pretty much it.

Meh lots of people (e36 and 240sx owners) like the orange on the green :dunno
and yea I just ordered new Eibachs for it actually.
The orange doesn't totally clash, it's just that the dark centers highlight the ride height, and it's a 'look at me-not at the car' color.
I can't wait to see it a bit lower. Have you thought about any other wheels other than style 5's?
