Buy 2 new blades.

buy two new "generic" BMW inserts.

then shorten to fit.

cost less than 1 correct length insert, and they work very very well.

I have OEM blades with rain-x spray applied to the windshield. Barely need to use the wipers anymore

I would be inclined to spend the money on the OE blades with the metal inserts and save on using RainX, due to the build-up that occurs using that product, that then leads to chattering wipers.

Kessler carries my point exactly, no matter how many times you goto the parts shop you tend to not remember you need new blade inserts until you cannot see where you are going.

Add to that, Plastic backed generic inserts tend to not work when aged as they warp with the blade in one position and will not clear the windscreen properly.
