My Apex Arc-8s are due this week. :redspot

I already have the tires I want, just need to get them mounted. Any recommended shops near the Portland area?

Wont ever have Discount tire mount any tires! I bought wheels and tires from them and got vibrations, so I went in and they said it was bent... unconvinced, i went for a second opinion, and they said the tire was improperly mounted AND way out of balance.

Firestone on W. Burnside in Downtown Portland, purchased tires there twice...both times without any post-purchase issues.

I personally go to Les Schwab. Either the 158th & Walker location (talk to Rich, he's a personal friends and the manager) or the Lake Grove location (talk to Reid, also a manager and personal friend). I have had several tires mounted there which I did not purchase from them. Typically the charges were around $12-$30 for all four.

Wait to dismount 4 tires and mount and balance 4 new ones that you brought in for 30 bucks?! No way. I wanted that and called them and they quoted me at 180 total

I've had good luck with A-N-T as well as Skips Wheel Works out in Beaverton.

Skip wasn't cheap, $100 for the set of four, but he took the time to test the wheels to see if they were straight, showed me how Americas Tire had done a crappy job, and did a proper balance. Great service, love drooling on the wheels being restored while I'm there.

Hmm, well the last time I used them they didn't charge me to dismount the old tires. I believe the charges were around $15 per corner and that included mount/balance of the new tires on the old rims and the new valve stems. Grand total was around $60 or so for all four. Maybe I caught them on a good day? :dunno

They charged me ~$130 to dismount, mount and balance 18" tires on my Z4 last time I went to Les Schwab. I had my wife's tires done when I was up in Canada, and it was around $80 for the same job.

I think they're giving you a friend discount.

I ended up seeing Tony at Motorsports. Awesome dude, it was $60 to mount and balance all four tires. Wheels still look brand new. :D

Yeah that sounds more like it. They must of hated me then.180 for staggard 18s. I went to a little tire shop and Portland and did the exact same for 60 total.

Sent from my EVO, expect errors.

I'm not in OP's area, but I've always had a good relation with the Les Schwab near me. I only go there 2-3 times a year but they remember my car and they have always given me good service, including some price breaks.
