I am leaving for the armed services within the next 6 months and I would like to see what everyone has to say about my dilema... I have a cosmo 95 540 M sport that needs a new motor, I have the resources to replace it now with an alusil @ 63k.... or should I wait till I have access to it on a more regular basis (two years). If I wait I will not buy the alusil with 63k, and I will have to search again for another motor or perhaps buy and remanufactured......

thoughts....
thanks.

Why not buy it and install later if time is the issue?

Sell the car. Sitting for 2 years is a crime.

won't have a place to store the motor....

i know its a crime to let it sit, but over time i'm gonna buy all the parts i need to rebuild it, tune it up a bit, and once all said and done, repaint it.

I just dunno if i should take care of the motor now...

I don't have an opinion on the motor, but I do want to say thank you for serving!

If you are to let it sit for two years, I think the best idea is to do it in two years.

Since letting your brand swapped engine sitting for so long won't do it any good.

When you take it back in two years, then do the swap, at least you will be sure the engine will work great.

If you are to let it sit for this period of time, i suggest you take some precaution for it not to be a 4 wheel jammed car instead of 2wheel drive.
