Original Vanos/Seals @ 255,000 miles

Should I replace? I heard the Dr.Vanos unit was a redundancy and that spending money on one would be unwise... any input on this?

Also, the reason why I'm looking to do this is because I have a severe power loss under 4,000 rpms and the vanos rattles, though its not too terrible.

Any advice from those who have done this before?

I wouldn't get the dr vanos. I just got new oring seals from Beisan Systems. $30 for the orings, $30 for a new valve cover gasket and $7 for a new vanos gasket. The procedure is about the same so why spend more on the dr vanos.

If that's the way you want to go then feel free. Dr vanos is an excellent product.

At 255,000 and with vanos rattle you really should fix it.
