Any software similar to vag-com?

My VW friends have a tool called vag com that they can connect for diagnostic stuff. I know that we have tools like the GT1, but it's ridiculously expensive.

Do we have a program that can perform a similar function, or provide functions similar to a gt1? Not talking about the peake research tools, but maybe something similar to carsoft but more BMW specific.

INPA, PA Soft. The OBD1 adaptors you will need to talk to the other modules in the car are a pain to find. Get one first.

OBD2 is only for DME and EGS.
