Well I found a M62B44 engine and I would like to know if there is any (bmw) gearbox that will fit it without any major modifications to the gearbox's housing and the car's interior.

I'm assuming that you're wanting to swap the M62 into your car

Well I'm not going to say that it can't be done because I'm sure it can, it would probably be somewhat costly to do it. As far as transmissions go there were only two transmissions that came with that engine, the 5 Speed Automatic ZF A5S 440Z-TE and the 6 Speed Manual Getrag S6S 420G.

Honestly, sell it.
The M62 is a big engine, and takes a lot of work to get to work. A Ford 302 or 5.0 swap would make better power in what I think is a smaller package.

Don't know, but if you're skilled enough to swap in the M62B44, you should be skilled enough to do some serious custom fabrication, because I think it's going to require it no matter what you do with that engine.

I was going to say the same thing, but didn't because he is overseas and the Ford 5.0L or GM LS engines are probably not readily available over there. They are MUCH easier to swap in though.

The boot floor will need some attention too with that much power.

Yea its possible not entirely feasible though, alot of custom fab work will have to ne done to make everything fit and function properly. And JoyLove is definitely right with uprated power you're going to want to do some chassis reinforcements to keep things straight.

I wonder what gearbox or mods Alpina did on the E36 B8 4.6 V8 conversion. I know the engine bay had 41 changes to make the engine fit.

Dont know if they tax cars by displacement there, but if they do, I'm sure the taxes on 5-6 liters would be quite the eye-opener.
