is it possible to replace the front control arm bushing without taking the control arm off the car i remember doing the other side when i did the whole arm and how hard it was to get the new bushing on. my reason for not doing the whole arm this time is 1. financial and 2. i can see the bushing is worn but seems like the arm is ok. , thanks again

It's possible without removing the control arms, but involves a bit more work, and depends on your strength. You could try dry ice on the control arm tips if the bushing doesn't want to go on with mediocre force.

If you are using OEM FCABs, you should be using the appropriate BMW-specific FCAB lubricant during installation (NOT dish soap). The BMW "lubricant" is needed because it dries like glue, and is supposed to bond the FCAB to the control arm in the correct location (which is why you're also supposed to get the car back on the ground under its own weight within 30 minutes of installing the new FCABs).

ive heard about getting it back on the ground in 30 so it will settle in the correct location, but i was told the dish soap works because it evaporates maybe i was mislead. where can i find the bmw Lubricant your speaking of because ive never heard of it and no one i know sells it. thanks
