We installed cut springs on the front of our ChumpCar to level the car out but it looks like the rear is sitting a little too high. Should we put rears on? I'm afraid the handling may be all kinds of wrong if we don't.

That rear end is not sitting right. I'm admittedly used to sport package coupes (have had two of them) which tuck the rear wheel, but that just seems way high, like something is wrong with assembly or with parts.

The massive weight reduction raised the whole car up which is why it looks weird. You should have seen the front before the drop!

Whoa, that is totally wrong-looking. What spring pads are you using in the rear? What springs exactly? Is there anything else in the upper wishbone tweaked, or in the spring receiving point? Subframe mis-mounted? All sounds highly unlikely, but that ride height is wonky. Is it stripped?

Edit: beat me to it. stripped would do it. Cutting E36 rear springs is difficult. Better off finding a shorter set.

The rear was fine even after we stripped the car but the front was WAY up in the air. I'm guessing the cut front springs shifted the weight balance back to the front. I think we are going to go ahead and install the cut rear springs. I agree, it just doesn't sit right now.

Remember, this is a race car built to race in the ChumpCar series. The series is for $500 cars, aka "crap cans." I have a build thread, I just haven't updated it. Cut springs are the norm here, coil overs are a no-no.

I think you're spot on. I'd try cutting the rear springs to help even it out.
