I posted this a couple days ago, and not a single reply, so it got buried! I really need some help with this one!

Ok so I got the TPS code, and I replaced it with one from pelican..Still had the problem, so I tested the thing with a Meter and it maxed out at 2.7k WOT, So I RMA'D it and got another that is withing Acceptable Tolerances.

BUT, now whenever I let my car Idle for too long I get the same code, which makes my tranny work in gears 3 and 4 only, until I pull over, and Pull the battery for 10 seconds, which clears the code and everythings fine again. I was thinking bad wiring, BUT it ONLY does this after it idle's for 20 seconds or more. I drove 350 Miles on the highway without Incident, until I pulled into a Drive thru, then it throws the code again! So now when Im at a light i just put her in Neutral and rev it up to 1300 over and over until it's a green light, and I shut it off in a Drive thru!

Please tell me someone has had an issue like this...I checked the wiring as best I could and it all seems fine. you can read my mods down in my SIG...I always help out people (Even when they should have searched I help them) so please help me if you can!

(http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=21197390#) I had the light come on today, and when I turned the car on Just to Idle and charge the battery (Im Redoing my stereo with some custom kick panels and a new amp rack) I was going to pull the cable, but didnt get around to it..and when I Started the car again the light was gone!

Some pics pf what Ive been doing....

My new Kicker SoloBaric Sub with and Ebay 3/4 MDF box that's Really well made for 39.99 shipped (how do they make money on that? the shipping has got to cost half of that??) And a Basic Amp Rack I made, and Some kick panel Speaker pods Im making out of Fiberglass and Body filler....

maybe idle position has a worn spot and it loses connection once in awhile? Maybe adjust the tps sensor so it reads higher all the time avoiding the worn spot? (my tps reads 16% when closed, 100% when open)

TPS shares power with fuel tank pressure sensor according to the diagram for M52, so if there is a short somewhere there could cause your readings to go off, but since it happens at idle, I am guessing it's a worn spot in the tps.

How do you adjust the TPS Idle point? Also it is a 2 week old TPS.....And since it only happens at Idle I dont see how it could be a wiring problem...I mean it Happens EVERY time I let the car Idle, and NEVER when driving, even after 350 miles!

I really need help on this one guys, please dont let this get buried

would an Upgraded Chip possibly cause this?
