Sludge and headgasket have nothing to do with each other. A blown headgasket will have other tell-tales.

there is a chance that your crankcase vent valve is ruptured internally. replace your crankcase vent valve, and all tubes running to and from it. the milky color is from water getting into the oil. if you are going on short trips, the water in the oil isn't burning off and can freeze (if you are in a cold climate). longer trips will burn the water off but it will be a reoccurring problem if that valve is ruptured.

^ thanks for the info! I drive extremely short distances and it's recently gotten pretty cold out here in VA. I could walk to my work in like 7 mins, driving takes like 60 seconds. And that's really as far as drive daily there and back.. So I thought might have something to do with it.

Short trips. All that junk should burn off if you go for a long highway drive (100 miles)
