I need to get a winter setup for my 2007 335i w/18 inched staggered and rft. I tried tire rack but their "recommended" setup is not RFT, and I've read several posts about their "recommended" 17 inch wheels not clearing the 335i calipers.

(I believe I made a stupid mistake and sold a set of 17 inch M contours with snow tires, which I should have tried for fitment first. I got a fair price so I can just get another set of those if need be and be even on wheels.)

So -- 17 inch? Or 18? I like the idea of a narrow 17 to save money on the snow tire.

In either case,

Are there any BMW wheels that will REALLY fit on the 335i? I see the car was sold with style 162 or 189.

Should I mess with RFT and TPS for the three months they will be on the car or just get regular tires and keep an 18 inch spare in the trunk?

I would prefer to get used BMW wheels instead of cheap rims, but I am flexible.

Anybody have a recipe to solve this problem they care to share?

90% of the tire and wheel packages I sell on the 335 models is tire rack's Sport Edition A7 wheel with 225/45/17 Blizzak LM-25 or LM-60 RFT. They are hub centric and accept a BMW centercap. Very nice looking wheel, very reasonably priced.

I would recommend getting that setup with TPM sensors, that way you'll know if your tire is flat, you'll have runflats and you'll have a nice looking setup at a reasonable price.

Thanks. Tire rack's Web site is difficult. The LM60 RFT do not come up in a search for winter tire and wheel combinations under the "recommended" 225 size, or the alternate 205 size.

Where do you sell this combo? Maybe I should buy from you?

P.S. Given the huge difference in RFT availability and the cost I'm leaning toward joininthe crowd that ditched the RFTs and threw a mobility kit into the trunk.

I brought it up within 30 seconds or so...see if this page works for you

http://www.tirerack.com/cart/HoldingArea.jsp

That might not come up for you since it was in my shopping cart. At any rate, all you have to do is select your vehicle from the drop down list, then select "winter" from the options and from their you can build your own 17" package
