Short Shifter Question

Hey everyone so Ive been doing research and cant seem to find the answer to my question. What OEM Shift Rod could I use to have a shorter throw? Ive heard that the 328/m3 zf (including mine) have the same shift rod. So an M3 rod wouldnt be an upgrade? Help?

if its a m3 trans the extra m3 short shifter i have would be excellent for you if your trans is the same as a 94 m3
