Well anyone in the tristate area is dealing with the blizzard right now. This was my first time driving my e36 in snow and damn is that thing a BEAST with proper snow tires. I still cannot believe I was passing SUVs and trucks with ease. The only pain was turning asc off when I needed to power my way out of some snow but beside that it was actually fun lol(specially donuts).

haha don't you just love the look SUV/truck drivers give you as you go places they're hardly able to manage? :rofl

lol yeah I actually got stopped by a cop for fish tailing. They asked if everything was ok and suggested another route and I said, "No I'm fine I was doing it on purpose" lol they just laughed and let me go

I've run steelies and snows on my 98 328i since its first winter almost 13 years ago and unless it's a real mess (tonight the visibility was downright dangerous), I've always enjoyed it in the snow. We've also always had a real 4x4 in the stable, too. (Broncos, Tahoe, etc.)

She's in the show for a makeover this week, so we'll have her snow shoes down on the powder next storm!

Hell, the only picture I actually have left of my 1984 633csi is in 2' of snow @ Okemo back in 1995. In fact, I just unearthed the rear snows from that car and brought them to the dump this past weekend.

lol eh true but I was a block away from the house and the cop was my age I was pretty sure he didn't feel like doing the paper work. And yeah the visibility is HORRIBLE right now

It's amazing how much difference snow tires and a LSD can make. First winter in an E36 was my old 318is (LSD) and I bought snow tires for it in time for winter and had zero trouble going anywhere. Last year I had the same set on my 325 (no LSD) and it got stuck once, but I managed to get it free without help. Today I drove my new 318 in the snow for the first time (LSD no snow tires) and it had no problem moving forward, but braking and turning was a bit of trouble... lol. Definitely need to find myself a set of snow tires ASAP!

I agree, this was my first time driving with snows and man what a difference. I'd recommend the AltiMAX Arctic

Yeah
Proper tires and a LSD make the e36 a real ski machine.
Just understand the envelope is MUCH smaller in the snow.
