View Full Version : just finished putting in new spark plug gaskets

so i took the car out for a test drive and it is running a lot better i was going down this one street and i was pulling a good 45 mph or so and i looked around and i decided to floor it. and i did...as soon as it kicked down the motor bogged and it pulled itself back up to speed and i heard a long chirp but im pretty sure it wasnt the tires. can someone tell me whats wrong?

Long chirp suggests to me that a check of the pulley system is in order. Often a bad pulley will show up with as a squeal or chirp with a sudden change in engine speed (as in kicking down a gear when you floor it).

Pull all the belts off and check pulleys for play and noise.

can you link me to a DIY ive never done this before
