hey forums ppls,

for christmas, i'd like information on the screws and clips i need to mount an m-bumper for my 318i. i'm specifically looking for part numbers.

i was part of a caravan for a short film when i ran over a busted tire. although i did not completely lose the bumper, i'm afraid i might be missing the appropriate clips and screws to properly mount it. since i'm not a mechanic or a jedi-enthusiast, i can't say for sure.

although my mechanic will help with the install, i figure i try to cut him a brake by hunting down all the particulars myself. i figure it's a good learning experience as well.

thnx.

hey cod,

i looked there, but the diagrams weren't great, and there isn't any real mention of clips. i found the screws (most of them i was able to salvage). the clips are what's killing me. i checked out some diy's that mention them, but the pics of them aren't great.

i may just need to bug my mechanic or a local dealer for the details.

edit: thnx tho

you will remove the bumper skin from the front bumper carrier (aluminum beam) and then install the m bumper to the carrier- the skin is held in place by plastic rivets (51111944537) and if you are careful removing them you can reuse - I was able to. You will also reuse the bolts holding bumper te the car and then resue the small bolts and clips for the attachment to the fender liners. You also have to ransfer the foglights if you have them. Really no new fastners needed unless you break them.

HTH
