New to BMW! Question on CD!

Hi, I'm new to this forum and to BMW overall. Bought my wife a White 2007 335i Sport Package in October of this year. And, I just pulled the trigger on an Black 2005 545i Sport Package this past Saturday. I don't know why I waited so long to drive these cars. Fell in love with hers right away...

I'll post a couple of pics when I get a chance.

My main question is on the CD/CD Changer. I inserted a CD in the console and it wouldn't play. Then I put it in the changer and no problem. Does the one in the console not work unless there's one in the changer (glove box)? I haven't tested that...

Was the CD you inserted in the dash unit a "regular" music CD or one that really contains MP3 files? If the latter is true, you need to have the radio programmed at the dealer to recognize the MP3s.

Yes, it was a regular CD

Hmmmm, did you ever test to see if you needed a CD in the changer? What kind of messages do you receive? Could be the dash unit is no good.

It just said "Unknown..." the message was on the bottom right but I couldn't read it. That's all that it showed or was visible.

Well, don't know what else to tell you except be glad the changer still works. ;)

Yep. Exactly...I get it to work but it takes about 3-4 times of putting the CD in. I think the dealership is gonna look at it next week since it is still CPO'd and with Maint.

Don't think CPO will cover the audio system issue. Good luck!

Sounds like some dust or lint might have gotten into the CD and you need a lens cleaner. I hair strand will cause a problem like that. Hope this helps.
