Buzzing noise coming from console area.

Hey guys,
i've recently noticed a buzzing noise coming from the the A/C fan control area after i turn my car off. it goes away after 5-10 minutes. Just wondering if anyone else has this?

I believe that's just the fan actuators moving around. Don't quote me on that though.

its a small fan about 1cm big cooling your screen. if u pull out the sunglass cubby (very easy to do) and then just put your finger up there you will feel it. if it is running u will feel a light tickle

Yup..I'm not sure about cars with digital climate controls but on cars with analog controls there is a small round grid on the lower right of the controls. There is a small fan behind that. It has a temp sensor too. Air is pulled in through the grid so the controls can tell what the temp inside the car is. Notice that your controls adjust the temp inside using "Degrees" and not just a warm hot scale. The controls are designed to maintain a constant temp and not just pump out a constant stream of warm/hot air.

For some reason the fan keeps running after you turn the car off. It never occured to me that it might be doing it to cool off the internal parts.

Yep, no reason to worry; all the BMWs I've had have done this.
