The M Wheel is from my 1997.

if I recall correctly, you need to change the slip ring. M3Crazy knows about it more since he tried doing the opposite with his M3.

IIRC, when I did this I had to purchase the slip ring to fit my car. Now I'm wondering if it was specific to the car or if it was specific to the 3-sp steering wheel. I think it was specific to the steering wheel.

mitch it was specific to the wheel, 97 Mpwr did the same swap you did.
