It's been on here before; I think some people have tried it.

I would so hit the cup on the right when going to 5th gear, though. For an automatic car I think it'd be fine.

Never seen that one before, dunno if it would work for my electric mug. Says its a friction fit, otherwise known as wedging it into the dash. This is the one I have:

Works perfect.

OP that is the cup holder to get. I have two and they work very well. I can put a 44oz small bottom cup in the one closest to the driver. I wouldn't do a large cup on the passenger side though. No problems shifting into 5th either. Good price as well. I paid that much for a used one.

I have that cup holder, work well, but I find the cup holder on the left side is a bit close to the ashtray when a cup is in the holder.

no prob....hope other people look at this post and see this option for a cup holder other than the one you wedge to the side of the shifter

are the openings bigger than the one you wedge beside the shifter like rotaryboots has? i have the same one as him and it sucks, it can't hold anything wider than a soda can

Was thinking this too! Too bad because it actually doesn't look all that bad, and if I didn't have ASC I would def grab one.

I will say this, I'd rather have ASC than cupholders.

Agreed, it was more a figure of speach! :cool

For those with ASC and otherwise using the crappy side-mount cup holders, who has a better solution? My side-mount one is a pile of crap. It only holds loose change, a cell phone, and empty gum wrappers, all of which get strewn across the cabin when my wife or daughter knocks the holder off with her purse.

I'm thinking about this one: http://www.ultimatecupholders.com/ Has anyone tried it?

The side mounted looks pretty hideous (yes, I have one...), but the one OP posted doesn't look much nicer, either. Nor does the one MMcClintock posted, so I'm pretty sure my car will have to do without one.

I just use the tray behind the window switches and hold the drink with one hand. It works well for me, but I do have an automatic.

actually from what I have seen it works pretty well. I ordered one last night so I'll give a review of it in a week or so in this thread.

as far as cup holders go... aesthetics are never their strong point.

I had a modified piece of pvc that made two cupholders and glued together with the bottom half skinny'd up just enough to fit in the phone slot. worked perfectly. I think Layne might still have it in my old wagon

I have used the double version of this cupholder for many years and it still works great. Love the way it sits perfectly and never tips in the armrest recess. Yes it is about $80.00 but so what. And yes it can hold a large double double from Timmy's!

+1 --- always getting knocked off when passenger seat is adjusted forward.

I have a double that is similar to this. It sits inside in the center console between the armrests.

No issues when I had the car. Now its just sitting in the garage collecting dust.

I received this cup holder tonight. My initial review is it looks pretty good and fits very well. HOWEVER, when I shift into 5th quickly, I definitely hit it. This is also dependent on the shifter you have I suppose. I have the E60 545 short shifter. Hitting it isn't a deal breaker but still slightly disappointing. I think I will just throw it behind my seat and pull it out when I need it.
