So I have been on the hunt for a lot of random parts that span just about every system imaginable in the car and now I am looking for a part that was only present (as far as I know) in late model (which means non US) M5s. The part is NLA and that means I have to look for it used. I have auto searches going on the German ebay but is there anyplace else? Is there some German forum for BMWs that's popular for parting these cars out? Any help would be appreciated.

What part do you need?

Part is 61128355184. Its a wiring harness that hooks a number of elements together. Most notably, rear seat heating and the electric rear headrests. Most everything else is on its way from Germany.

If money is no object.. Step into the nearest daealer? :)

You can try the european bmw boards like www.e34m5.se www.bimmerforums.se and the german sites..

Alot of abused speciments are being parted out to do up the nicer ones.. So it's quite common to see ads for ones being chopped..

Dealers cant help me as the part is NLA (or at least everyone who gets OEM parts including at least one dealer has told me that).

Just thinking outside the box here.....

Could you not patch something together from a E32 750il in the US that had those options?

Exactly, but even better news is that it doesn't have to be from a 750, you can grab it from any e32 stretch. Even the 735iL had rear seat heaters and harnesses that should work just fine.

I am aware of that and it is my plan B. If I go that route, 750i's harness makes more sense as the Ls all had to accommodate a more complicated switch that also allowed for the rear seats to move forwards and backwards.
