See my sign for 8000k fogs, i have bought 3000k spare lights too that i have in the glovebox.. but i don't feel like changing them out to test.. but all i can say is it will simply look yellow instead..
Well if you want yellow just get 6000k and yellow laminx
Or just get 3000k bulbs with an extra set of 8000k bulbs and be done with it.. The spare bulbs for these cheaper hid kits aren't much to buy.

Question do those 8000K kits, melt your lighting housing?

No, they run colder than halogen bulbs.

They shouldn't melt anything, 55W hid's should still run colder than 55W halogen bulbs. You can actually feel the temp differance when the lights are on by touching the glas, my highs are 55W halogen and they are warmer than all my hids..
I got 35W slim in my fogs and 55W on my lows..
I can tell you what will melt your housings though, and that is 100W halogen bulbs.. and that i know by experience..
Here's a pic of 6000k 55W, just keep in mind that 55W will wash out the colors a little more, so they will be more white than they would with 35W ballasts.
