What are my options on replacing the sound that it makes when I use my remote control to lock/unlock my vehicle? The sound it makes sounds like a seal and it's very annoying and embarassing

I was thinking I could just buy an aftermarket alarm and get it swapped like that but if there's a less expensive alternative i'm down with that. I don't care much about brand name alarms...the BMW alarm system is fine but the sound it makes is a BUST

It's embarassing to be seen getting out of a BMW because the chirp from the alarm sounds like a seal?

You need to get in touch with the guy that wants semi circular spray patterns from his windshield nozzles.

Perhaps the two of you could design the Ultimate BMW.

Oh need to add LOL so that you don't take this as a personal attack.

LOL I will agree it seems a little silly..but I imagine there is a chance you could swap the siren..however I am not sure if BMW uses a siren count to communicate, if so it could interfere with that.

Is the E34 that same low-high-low whistle that the E38 and E39 have? Like James Bond's whip in Tomorrow Never Dies? If that's the sound, then I whistle that every time I walk up to my car wishing that my car had it.

haha CHILL on that though. simple question guey, just looking for a simple answer by someone who has replaced what I'm talking about. and I never said it's embarassing to be seen getting out of a BMW. I know the chirp sound is not a big deal, it's something I want to change though

It does sound silly, just like the sound it makes.

after market sirens will fit... but they sound REALLY funny connected to the alarm.
