I just picked up a set of 17" Kopi Alpina Reps with 215/40 tires. The tires are dead and I am looking for a decent tire that won't break the bank but have good wet/dry handling. I want to stick with the same tire size. Thanks!

I don't know what's not break the bank scale for you, but I have very good experience with Yokohama Advan AD08 (in your sizes around $600 for a set+ shipping). Not installed on my BMW but doesn't matter.

If you're looking for less then I heard good things about the BFgoodrich g-forces and the Yokohama S drive is a good tire as well.

I have a friend that has AD08's on his car and I am impressed with them but not for a car that is mostly a daily driver and does do some long distance driving. They just would last long enough and wouldn't do to well in colder/crappier weather.

The S. drives are the price range I am looking at but I was thinking more about the Falken Ziex Ze-912. But I am still open for suggestions.

I've been running Hankook V12 Evos on the daily for the last couple months - cheap, good dry and wet traction. Definitely something to consider but you would have to run either a 215/45 or 225/45.

I had Falken's (they were semi slicks, don't remember the model) on my STI, they were excellent (but wore out fast, well it was a super grippy soft tire).

Ever since I drove the AD08's I'm very impressed with Yokohama and I also purchased a set of Yokohama's for my Lexus LX470 that are all-terrain and I am very satisfied with them as well, they were cheaper than the competition and were a little more off-road oriented which was exactly what I wanted.

Yea, I have heard good things about the Hankooks and probably would run them but if I run anything over 215/40 I then start getting rubbing issues and I really don't feel like dealing with spacers.

In that size I like the Continental Extreme Contact DW at 109.00. In recent testing here they out performed the Michlin PS2. If I can help let me know.
