Now I know a bunch of you guys think it is really cool to put your rear foglight on, but it is super bright and blinds the people behind you.

I used to have an Audi A4 Quattro, and I would only use it when it was foggy out, and turn it off as soon as I was out of fog.

In Maryland at least, I have seen more and more losers out there that cruise around even when it is clear out with the rear fog on.

Then when I flip my highs on from behind, they look at me like I'm the one that is crazy. Couple guys have known what they are doing, and start to act up.

COME ON - turn the thing off. We can see you, you don't have to blind us back here!!!

Nice rant. I never turn my rear foglight on.

But if it's factory, the rear foglight can turn on only when the front foglights are on. The front foglights can be on only if the marker lights or the lowbeam headlights are on. If the highbeams are one, the foglights turn off.

I know how you feel. I followed a car with its rear foglights on up a long hill once and by the time we were at the top, I was totally blinded.

Thanks for the kind reply - I was sort of expecting a bunch of guys to hammer me on the rant...

Yep, they commute to work with front fogs on, in heavy traffic, absolutely clear day -

With this big huge center rear fog light on.

For some reason, the Mini's are much, much worse than the Audi, Volvo, BMW's (that the owner has modded, or they are grey market). Don't know if is the bulb, angle, or what, but it is a friggin spotlight. There are two mini's that run around the Annapolis/Baltimore area that are absolute jerks on this...:ar15firin

Ummmmm........the rear fog is no brighter than the brake lights are. Yes, they are brighter than the running lights, same as riding the brake pedal.

And I agree, no reason to have them on unless needed. As it tends to desensitize the folks behind you to the brightness of the brake lights.

Yep, on most cars, it is the same as a brake light - annoying when it is driving down the road and it is clear - bright, hard to see through and past it...

There is something about the minis - seems like they have more of a bean that seems to be aiming the thing at driver eye level - making it like a spoltlight to me...

And it is not on all of them, must be an option with the fogs or something.
