First off the car in question is a 1995 525i

I've heard of people having trouble putting in an aftermarket head unit but only on like pre 92 cars. I was just curious if it is just plug it in basically for a 95 or if it is more complicated than that.

Also I've heard that you can't bypass the factory amp for late models. Does this only apply for the regular speakers? I was thinking of adding a sub and an amp for the sub so would I be able to do this or would I have to have some large modifications?

no problem if head has a sub out, hook it up like anything else.
