Hi guys. I had just purchased a 95 AW Touring and would like to get a hold of some clear rear blinkers. I saw that at one point a place called Radicast had them for sale. I have a spare touring tailights and I'm willing to dremel my way through this. Any ideas? Thanks!!

Good luck. Those are rare and pricey. I think they manufacture in batches... check Ebay. Which AW Touring did you pick up? Locally? There was a 95 530iT in Whittier that I was trying to convince the wife we needed :shifty... is it that one? Hit me up if you need anything.

Wow, a neighbor! I got the one for sale somewhere in Van Nuys. 95 525it. I really like the rear clear look but if I can't find one then amber it is. I'm looking for a set of wheels but I think I'll just try to put on my stock E39 M5 wheels for now. I also want to work on the ride height coz it the back seems lower than the front. Lots of work to do with this new project.....

Yeah good luck..
That last time a set was for sale in the whole world in store(!!) was on a swedish site and they got sold out in no time (there was actually 4 sets) and they where $240 for the pair, for the blinker plastic pieces only, that you had to modify and glue yourself.
But if you're lucky there might be a guy from australia that sells the whole taillights with the white/clear blinkers installed already he had ones with smoked/gray and black blinkers too, they all looks nice, but the white ones are by far the best looking on the touring. I don't recall what his name was, but if i do, i'll post up again in this thread.
I know that several on this forum knows who i mean and can give you a name to get closer to them.
But be prepared to pay out around atleast 400 bucks for them.

not justifiable to pay the jacked up price for something probably worth $10 of material. i'd spend that money on maintenance instead. (oil, air filter, spark plugs, and a six pack should still fall short of that price....= )

I have these waiting to make for my extra tail light buckets, but these are not for sale.

Is the site that was Radicast, then Reproglas, and is now vparts.
Specialty Volvo assessory company that makes limited runs of E34 Touring lenses. They would not sell me the mould which I made numerous offers for, and then emailed me that they were making another run about 1.5 years ago which is where the above came from.
If you could open a dialogue with some one over there and place an order for 20 or more, I bet they would do another run. That was about the size run I got in back then.
This is the bmw section with only one link active at this point

Yep, a neighbor indeed. If you can't live with the ambers, then all red is another option. Maintenance 1st, goodies later... I agree. I did see the Van Nuys one too. Looked real clean. Welcome to the madness. I love my Touring and wish I could justify a second one. The e39 wheels will fit, just get the hub-centric rings and you should be fine. Pictures please. Does it have SLS? If so rear ride height can be adjusted.

Holy crap. I've been trying to decide if I liked the clear lenses that came on mine... this makes me like them a lot less.

LouieD, I may need your help about lowering the rears with the SLS/LAD. Any chance you have the know how? Now I remember your car. I see it rolling up and down on Copperhill. I am waiting for my hubcentric rings in the mail. I have a choice between a 17" Style 5 or 18" Stock E39 M5 wheels. I also have a set of Breytons in 19s but I'm not liking the style too much.....
Also the red-out tails sounds good too. I'm gonna think about that but for now...get her back in shape...

Yeah, that's me on Copper Hill :D I'll be on the lookout for a white Touring. There's another one running around Canyon Country... not an enthusiast though, just their transportation and the BMW indy in CC has a nice GlacierBlau as well.
It's an adjustment to the sensor. Basically you fool the sensor. I never adjusted mine as it was adjusted by the PO. When my "bombs" lost their poo, I pulled the whole system out and went with sedan coils. Their are write ups around here somewhere on the adjustment.

No, it was $291 USD.

They go between 2 and 300.
However, I was just on the Radicast website and they're still showing that you can order them for 99Euros.

Why can't all new E34 owners think like this? (Six pack of Blue Label, perhaps?)

Clears? Are they the ugly ones? Not these talked about in the thread i guess?
I get confused sometimes as some people call the white blinkers as "clear blinkers".
But when i read clear, in my mind i see that they are just like ordinary glas or something similar = clear.. usually very ugly.
Also the red-out tails sounds good too. I'm gonna think about that but for now...get her back in shape...
Red tails is something you can do for lets say 10 bucks, red tint spray.
And if you don't like the result, you can easily remove it and go back to stock, so it can be worth a try? No?
You can do black too (as i've done) with the same method.

I meant for the whole tail lights including the white blinkers already modded on.
And no, radicast don't have them for 99euros. They don't have them at all.
Though i feel that you may have been kidding around there to create a "WHAT!?"-moment for all who wants them and reads what you said :)

Actually it is, that's 98 euros. Just because it's on the website doesn't mean you can currently buy it (I have no idea, just saying).
Mine are white I guess, you cannot see through them. I agree 'crystal' light are awful.

:rofl, counting > me. For some reason I had it in my head that they were 99, and didn't even bother doing the math.
Yeah, I don't know if you can actually buy them, but the option is still there on the website. That's all I was getting at. Paying north of $250 is stupid.
Layne, we are in agreement that "clear" = the white, not those ebay crystal clear craptastic lenses.
Wanna sell me your taillights? :)

I don't think 1995 iT had rear SLS. Unless it was optioned?

:dunno Depends how stupid you are. Actually they're in kind of bad shape due to the poor quality of the plastic. I'm going to try to polish them up before I make a decision to keep or change them.

Nope. Conventional rear suspension on 94's and 95's.

to clear the record, i am not talking about the ones we all see on ebay (super crystal clear, euro sparkling lights, etc...) i'm talking about the non-amber ones just like pictured above...i have done that "all red" tails to many of my older BMWs so that might be an option...i still have a spray can of that red paint...hobby paint that is...
as for the SLS option on my car, i have not checked if I do have it or not...(just assuming)...i will check it out tonight since its Friday and I got tons of beers in the garage....
six pack blue label? thats too expensive bro....but you just made me salivate for some Johnny Walker Blues.....

Do you got a direct link? Because i've been trying to find where they have that on their site atm? All i find is that they don't have any e34 touring parts at all. Would be lovely is what you say is true.

I would like to point out for any one who can't put 2 + 2 together and get 4, that Layne has the Radicast lenses, which Elekta put on, Panzer Captain kept, and Layne now owns...
so they are what, Geoff, 4 year old lenses? They were garaged for a good portion of that, weren't they?
I'd be hesitant at this point to to buy any, just because I wouldn't want them disintegrating and needing replacement due to no UV blocking in 3-4 years. Especially after paying that much.
If I did i;d shoot the tails with Clearcoat to give them some uv protection, and make sure to wax them frequently.

I'm gonna rip adrian for not giving those back to me before he sold the car.
If you don't want them, return them to the guy who made them. I will trade you a clean set of OEM's any day you want. I have two amber sets and you can pick either one
