Bad mileage in 335d

I am leasing a 2010 335d and getting crappy mileage- at 26 mpg over 7100 miles now

Car is driven 50% highway, 50% hilly city

Any ideas on why my fuel economy is so crappy compared to what others report (eg > 30)?

+1. My 335d gets worse significantly worse mileage driving over Snoqualmie Pass (I90 east of Seattle) than on the flats going down to Portland.
