Long story super short, someone tried passing me while i was obviously hydroplaning. I could either have tanked them, dealed with possible lawsuit for medical bills this and that, their damage, my damage, etc. Or countersteer hard and take the expected slam into the curb and only have to worry about fixing my car.

Yeowch! sorry to see and hear about that. I'm glad you're fixing it as opposed to parting it... ///M's are a dieing breed

This car will never be parted, i love it too much. Almost broke my heart today seeing it all fucked up, but no matter how much it'd cost i'd fix it.
Car's actually going to Jim's Auto Body in Wrightstown, NJ. Will provide what i'm confident will be a raving review.

Oh god, I can hardly even look at it. Makes it all the worse that it looks so great in your signature.
Hope it goes well!

thanks man^. yeah i should probably swap that signature out. hurt to see the estimate at the body shop today, but i know the guys there and i'll know they'll do it right. it's going to be a fortune to fix but i'll do what i need to do to get it back on the road.

Ouch! lets hope there's not much structural/chassis damage to make things worse.
Are you paying for it out of pocket or insurance? Either way, thumbs up for not just scrapping an otherwise nice bmw.

That is a truly sad Picture...
Being a 2 door you wouldn't want much damage to the sides, could be quite costly.
Damn! Now THAT'S a "kill" story...

right out of my pocket. isn't too long of a bill considering the damage, and i picked up all the parts myself.

i was actually thinking of posting it in that forum, but didn't think anyone would find it funny ahaha.

I cry everytime I see a damaged E36, and in your case I sobbed like a kid that wouldn't get his favorite cereal because his mother said no for the healthier alternative. Hope all goes well.
* I want to paint my green 328 to that blue you have now sometime during the spring. Love that color.
