Fog lights?

I was looking around but couldn't find any answers for E34
What fog light bulbs do E34's use? H1? 9006?

Projectors use H1. I'm not sure about the non projectors but I've heard they may take 9005's or 9006. Your best bet is to look at yours.

how would you tell...on a 94 530I stock should be ...?

A 1994 530i should come with ellipsoids from the factory, if they are indeed OE ellipsoids they should take H1s.
