Has anybody seen these in person? it looks like they mount (About) the same, If its just a matter of length they could easily be trimmed down, and they look sweeet! Plus since Ive never seen it done, it would give my car a more personalized look...Everyone has M3 Sideskirts

Is that plastic? How do you trim down plastic to the point it still llooks 'OEM'? I would NEVER spend money on something [new] and then cut it / beat it / trim it .... Unless it was a neccessity .... which this isn't.

IFFFFFFFFFFF, there was an exact size for the E90 ss to fit our E36s, then ye sure, why not.

If it is it just would involve a little Bodywork, and since they have to be painted anyways, there probably going to be in a body shop full of people whos life work is to make things look oem for that matter. People Do it all the time...Especially If they want a Customized car. Like the people that want to make there grills one piece with the hood (Including Me). And $190 for something new is a drop in the bucket of life (or a BMW for that matter) you want to make an omelette, you have to break a few eggs! (A Little Life lesson there for you free of charge!)

And yes there Polypropylene Just like the M3 aftermarket ones for the E36

I can't see those fitting, even with trimming. I think the money is better spent on other upgrades. For $190, you could get rid of your bra and vent shades, and have $190 left over.

But if he does that, what will hold up his boobs?

^ LOL!

OP, does it make sense to spend $190 and then give it to a body-shop to charge you another $190 easy (paint alone is almost that) just to make it fit?!

My dad and brother both do bodywork, and giving it to "professionals" doesn't mean the outcome will look good .... if it was a cheap DIY which is what I thought you were saying then maybe (probably not though); giving it to a bodyshop .. out of the question.

Also, People do customize their cars, but its usually Civics... I remember that 1 kid who came here with his 'WESTCOAST LUXARY' white E36 with fat ass rims and crazy customs, noone liked it and he got flamed out of his mind and quit this forums in a week ._.

I have a friend who owns a body shop, and Since I was already going to buy m3 Sideskirts and have them painted, the difference wouldn't be a big deal to me

and as for customizing cars being for people with civics, I guess everyone who has swapped front clips or changed headlights or put M3 sideskirts on, or Diffusers or Tailights and done the WAYYY more expensive front grill/hood mod, Should all join a civic board then? We wouldnt have many Members left!

^ Just the front grill/hood mod. What's the point? No improvement in looks or performance.

OP, If I were you, I would've just gone ahead and got them installed by now since you have all the resources. That way this thread would have gone from "spend money elswewhere, are you retarded, your car would die in a fire if you try to do some custom work" to, "OMG how did you do that, I want that mod, I would make love to your car sweetly while removing it's bra with my teeth."

Disclaimer: Some comments are not entirely accurate. :shifty

Wow I think op is a ricer

Thai Ricer: Wow I think your a Moron. The Ricers are the guys That try to Race everyone on the road (Isn't your name "Thai Ricer"?hmm) with nothing but lame low quality bolt on mods,Fake HID's, No Interior, Loud Mufflers, Cold Air Intakes that do more harm then good, Mods that do nothing (Like stick on hood pins), and no custom, well done mods. on the other hand I have Remus Exhaust that's very quite, a stock air box, and a bra that saves my new paint job from the thousands of Semi trucks that come Down the Highway by my my house and through rocks and chip the paint and windows on the car (I currently have a Cracked Windshield To Replace because of it) and you think Im the Ricer?

Ponchiz318: Thank you for telling it how it is!! And your right I should have just gone and done it, but I was hoping someone had seen both (Like at DDM) Next to each other, and had an idea how close they where, and what would be needed to have it done, as well as some Constructive Criticism And Ideas From Intelligent E36 owners. instead I got flamed non stop, and got nothing but Lame comments ............................................... Makes me feel like I am on a Ricer board!

Joey79: A lot of people will agree with me that the hood mod done like the guy from Munich has, Improves the looks a great deal..But I guess he's a ricer too according to "IhaveAnE36's" Definition.(Wow he sure put alot of thought into that nick)

That car is in the top 20 or better car's on this forum, Partly Because of the work he put into Customising his hood and Grill!

I just can't believe the amount of lame comments I got in this post, I though most of us were Adults...Not Sarah Palin in an Election Year Ad

Dude what u just described was actually yourself. That "boser" style hood if for the vw's. U have carbon fiber a pillar. I'm pretty sure it's more for looks rather then performance because u added an audio system. WTF is fake hid's? U mean the kit that u have in your car? "real" hid's please explain to me what that is.

kidneys look too big. Don't like the hood mod. But as for the side skirts I haven't seen it done, but i think you should give it a go if you don't mind experimenting for the rest of us. Who knows, you may start a new trend. If you end up doing it post up some results.

P.S. get rid of the bra and the window shades ;) (hahaha)

Let me get this straight, the grill+hood mod is a good idea because, if you get hit on either sides of the fender [left or right] and damage the hood beyond repair, you then have to re-buy a nose panel / chuck the entire hood away with all that custom work?! Definitly a good idea! (P.S. Those pics that you posted, dudes hood isn't even sitting flush. More gap on the left than the right ..)

Further, noone was flaming you, I was trying to express my opinion with facts, you obviously didn't like it and are very upset with (me?) and thairacer for no reason.. Not only that, you're protecting a beautiful paint job by covering it up with an ugly ass black vinyl... definitly screams FASHION like them E90 sideskirts.

Also, dudeski, loud mufflers are not rice [if you think so, then Skyline R34's with GReddy's or HKS' are rice] - What is 'no interior' lol? Fake HID's? ..The rest of your 'MOD' sentence is too fragmented for me to decipher.

Finally; 1) you were given 'SOME' ideas.. guess how that went?
2) We [I] tell you that the e90 thing is homo, you say my opinion is no good, then you post your own opinion about a hood, and grill all-in-1 pizza delievery... hypocrisy. I think Fidel Castro is lost in Santa Maria.

Call me crazy, but I think that hood is ugly. Permanent eyelids = failure.

Idea/constructive criticism #1: Some time after 1991, they invented the clear bra. Own it.

Idea/constructive criticism #2: Vent shades are A: ugly, B: almost useless.

To the OP, I never really new what was underneath that bra but I figured I would give you the benefit of the doubt that it was ether wrecked or you bought it like that and if you took it off it would reveal the scratches it left behind. Those damn braws do more harm than good and seeing as you put it on a brand new paint job....:nono

Use it, your car will look a tone better.

I feel better that I got that out, not trying to be personal, it was just bugging me. :eyecrazy

Im not sure what my stereo has to do with anything, but whatever. Fake HID's are the Bulbs you see on ebay that say HID on them, but are just Bulbs with tinted blue glass, so they shine blue and look like 8k hid lights.

Definitly a good idea! If you Don't want to Mod your car because you might get in an accident and ruin it, then Following that Logic I shouldnt have bought my new headlights or M3 front clip Because I might get in an accident an ruin them. I Have yet to Run into something with my car, and if I did I would have more to worry about than a busted hood. Maybe you have a problem NOT running into things....if your really not doing things to your car because of what might happen, then park your car in the Garage and take the bus.

SnowBoardinWNY: Thank you for the link, I may use something like that when My M3 bumper gets painted and put on, I just don't know if it would Prevent rock "Dings"...until then Im happy with my Bra.....I actually get about 2 Emails a week with people looking for them...But thanks for the input

I would Like to Thank Blitz355, Ponchiz318, and BMX325i for your input, You guys all came through with useful info and comments

I think Fidel Castro is lost in Santa Maria.Im sorry but the guys that wake me up with Mufflers you can hear a mile away are Ricers. Whatever car they may be Driving. And No Interior means they took out there interior to make their car's Lighter..........So they have "No Interior" And as far as Fidel Castro, Exactly how does that Relate to me? You are just Flaming.

As for the rest of what you said...With the whole "Homo, Pizza Delivery, And Fidel Castro" Nonsense, well I don't know what to say. When I asked for Ideas, Somehow I never expected that putting them on would make me a "Homo" Would be a useful Idea.......And This Thread has Degenerated into something that is just....well, Sad. Keep posting if you want to get the last word in or call my Ideas "homo" or whatever, Im giving up on this one, I should have 5 posts ago.:rolleyes

:( My point about damaging the hood is: If you do damage the hood, you don't just ruin the hood (1) thing, you ruin/need to replace: Hood (1), Grills (2), dinky eye-lids (3), and nose panel (4), opposed to 1 h00d.

As for being scared to hit things/park it in my garage ... what?! Sig says it all. I don't cover my car up with a bra..

Once again, if a 'car wakes you up a mile away,' it must be rice? Lol.

I think that happened to your car because of the one piece headlights.....:shifty

;)
J/K man.

Anywho, this thread went down the shitter.
I'm definitely a fan of a properly executed Boser hood. Adds tons of agressiveness to the front end, but, you need the power to back it up. Sure if you hit something you will need to redo the entire custom job but to be honest, you're pretty much purchasing the nose panel, grills, and hood again just like any other front end hit. Add a tub of bondo and sandpaper and you should get your custom work done again. Just my .02 on that one.

As for the bra, I would also go with the clear but since you already have the black one, stay with it. No need to spend money on something you already have covered. I definitely understand why its there. Hell, I would've loved to have one the time a bolt flew off a truck and struck the hood(leaving behind a scratch primer deep) and then striking the windshield(leading to a crack about 12" long down the middle). But I didn't and it's my daily so I don't care. If people ask, I just say it happened during a drift event and thats just a battle scar.....:stickoutt

the boser copy look alike hood is ugly and the real bosers are ugly imo.

anyways, only one way to find out about the skirts, get them and try it.
