93 325, starts then dies. fuel pump already changed once.

As the title states. Parents' car, I changed the fuel pump for them once already when it was doing this in the spring. Possibly a bad fuel pump or relay? I'm going to take a look at it when i can, jump the relay and etc. But what else could cause this problem besides fuel pump issues

pressure regulator sounds like a good thing to check.

any way to identify a MAF problem? maybe unplugging it an see if it starts?

This may sound dumb, but check the battery voltage. My car gets pretty odd with a low battery.
