My car is a 94 with 105k miles..Ive been having some stutter / Idle issues but I think I fixed the stutter and Im thinking ICV for the Idle problems...

Anyways I tested all the coils, there all .6 and ones .7 I know that's not a "end all" way of knowing there good, But my buddy is a caddy Mechanic and he's telling me that when they go bad, they go bad and won't test right or do anything. My car isn't throwing a code...So is it worth buying new ones? Has anybody bought new ones and noticed a big difference even if theres no code and they test ok?

Or in ACTUAL term's take advantage of the sale on M3 door moldings or get new coils?

You will get people on both sides of this. I tend to lean towards your buddy but there is no escaping the fact that those coils have a primary coil and a secondary coil and from what Ive read there is no way for the average guy to test the secondary coil.

All that being said...If your coills are causing a msfire you should be getting a CEL. If there's no CEL I would look elsewhere. Plugs are a biggie and cheap. 91 octane gas is a biggie.

The coils do become less efficient over time so if you can't find another solution and you have the cash then change them out.

Id rather drive a car that runs good than one that looks good. The M3 stuff will still be there when you get more cash.
