I'm broke and need tires, recommendations?

2006 Cooper S running the 17" 2 piece webspokes, I think they are 7" wide.
I need some tires bad, would prefer non-runflats. Looking for a decent used set to get me buy or recommendations on a good budget priced set of new rubber.

Go to a trusted (not necessarily national chain) tire dealer. Budget tires are not necessarily brands you have heard of. You can get decent budget high performance tires for less than $75 each. I've used Sumo Firenza's and Nexen tires in the past and found them great value for money. Especially if you do not intend to be racing with them.

As MINI drivers tend to be rather picky about their tires, you may find good used tires available with 80%+ tread left on them for cheap. Make sure you buy them at the very least in pairs.

I noticed you are in Texas. I believe there is a pretty vibrant MINI club in Dallas. Clubs may be able to get discounts from local autoparts and tire dealers. Contact them to see if there are any membership benefits.
