Normal? Hard drive and engine lights...

Just picked up my first BMW last Saturday - 2007 335xi.

Purchased a CPO car and have had a blast all week. I took a really nice hard drive home today and upon rolling to a stop noticed the yellow engine light come on (and limp home mode). Checking the controls the oil reported min with the +1 - clearly not normal given I just picked it up less than a week ago.

I'll take it in tomorrow (the engine light has since disappeared after resting the car for an hour). Any thoughts on what I should be truly worried about? I drove it hard for about 20 min but nothing over the top.

If I had to guess, I would say it's probably the HPFP (fuel pump). This has been an ongoing issue that many of us have experienced. I just had mine replaced last week - same symptoms (engine light, reduced power).

There has been an official recall by BMW for this issue. I would take it back to the dealer ASAP and have it checked/replaced. It's covered under the warranty, so you should not have to pay anything out of pocket.
