new valve cover gasket, still smells

I had the valve cover gasket replaced, looks like there might still be some left over oil still on engine where the leak was, how long does it take to burn off? Should I use a cleaner remove oil?

I would clean it out if I were you it may never completely burn off.

It's not going to burn off the engine, only off the exhaust. If there's still oil on the engine, they botched the repair, or they didnt clean it.
