slight engine tick

I can hear a slight engine tick when hood is opened, not when closed. Is this normal for a 330? new to bmw's.

Most BMW's will tick.

If it isn't ticking something might be wrong lol.

OMG thank god, your words have made my day. I just realized today that mine had a slight tick as well very faint tick. I'm guessing it's something to do with the Vanos maybe?

You have lifter tick. Almost every BMW I6 seems to have some form of this, to varying degrees.

Mine has a very slight tick, you can't hear it unless you put your head really close to the engine. So this is normal right?

No that is not normal, but the ticking is ;).

It's either normal lifter noise or the sound of the injectors firing lol
