Hello,
I have 2006 mini with automatic transmission. It has about 24k miles.
I noticed that when car goes over 70mph, the steering wheel vibrates a lot. I feel like I am holding a massage machine.
If I turn the steering wheel slightly right or left, the vibration is reduced, but when it's straight, vibrates a lot.
Where should I check? Can this be an alignment issue? Wheel bearing?
Any advice will be great.
Thank you.

If it is at speed, it could be a tire balance issue. I've had weights fall off over time on wheels before.
Also, if you have aftermarket wheels on, you should check to make sure you have wheel hub rings. They make sure your wheel is snug and fully centered against the hub.
Hope it's nothing serious.

Thank you for the reply.
Rims are OEM. I will take the car to a shop and ask for balancing them.
I really hope that it's just tires.

That's your culprit 90% of the time. I've had weights fly off. Everytime I hear like a ran over a rock...it was a weight!lol
