Service Engine Soon Light when Engine is OFF

Hello,

I got my 2011 328i yesterday and here is what is happening

1. I put the key in
2. without steping on break ,I press Engine Start/Stop button.
3. All lights on Dash come ON and then go off. Only light remains in "Service Engine Soon"
4. When I turn on the engine it goes off


Is this normal? or there somthing wrong?

That's normal. If it stayed on while the engine is running, it would be a different story.

Normal. When you press the button without stepping on the brake, it's kind of like turning the key to "accessory power" in a car with a traditional key. In that case, as well, dash lights will light up.

This is normal on pretty much EVERY car made after 1996. Not sure how you haven't noticed it until this new one...
