First round 3 months ago was turbo replacement due to worn wastegate hinges. This one last week was due to failing injectors. Last time was a new turbo hinge design, and this one a new oem distributor with a new design. Something you guys might want to check out.
Also found out from Bill Pearce BMW in Reno, NV. that the HPFP hasn't been officially noticed, but will be a full recall in several months. New pump will have a new manufacturer as well. The 10 year warranty idea is going down the tubes. They are in the process of stocking up car dealers with pump inventory. Anyone hear the same thing lately?

Are you saying the recall will nullify the warranty? Is that possible? Can they rescind a warranty after it has been granted? I guess they may have fineprint somewhere!

I'm preety sure they can't recind a warranty but if the car does not break down, who cares?

If they replace the HPFP, hopefully that becomes the end of it. It seems like the new volley of OEM manufacturers with different and more improved parts seems to fix most problems. Hopefully a different manufacturer of an OEM HPFP makes the whole thing just go away. Knock on wood, mine is still running like a champ. Seems like one of the components that is as of late, ha ha.

I'm getting my HPFP replaced tomorrow. '08 335XI, 35k miles. I'll see if the paperwork shows me the part number. Hopefully it's the new "recall" one...
