Yep, it's official.....it's a hoopty! I am rolling with the headliner drooping in the rear. It's a 1 1/2' x 1' section right above the driver rear. Yo, yo, yo, I don't want to be cruising around like this too much longer. What are my options? DUDE, everything is breaking, becoming brittle, ugh! You fix one thing, something else happens. : )

Honestly, just gut the whole headliner and put in alacantara. I've seen headliner repairs fail and they're back at square one. Once one area starts coming down, I would suspect that the rest isn't far behind. Just pay the few hundred for a brand new one that you like. :)

Protect your interior when you remove it. That old brown glue gets on everything and is hard to get offf. Worst part of doing interior repairs.

What is alacantara that you speak of?? Suede?

goto to stationary store and buy some tacks.......1/4` or 1/8` inch tacks and pin them in and its a quick cure for sagging headliner

Thought about it, seems ghetto, but hey, it seems fitting to my 'ol '95. I dropped off my loaner car, think it was a 328i, so tight, get back in my car, with the headliner swagger that it's got going on, and man, it's 15 years old!!

The alacantara is man-made suede, but shouldn't be considered "fake" because real suede wouldn't last as a headliner. Alacantara is durable, and some people around here have done their headliners. It's completely worth it. My buddies' S65 has a black alacantara headliner with wood handles, and it's SHARP. It gives such a unique look and feeling to the interior.

^So, do you think that a local upholstery shop would have the material?

Probably not a fabric store like AC MOORE, but a car upholstery shop should have it, especially since it's becoming more and more popular. Just hit two or three places and see where you stand price-wise. And also be sure to post pics. when you're done :)

Will do. I'll get it priced out tomorrow. Can't stand the looks of it now. Makes a guy really feel like he has "arrived". : ).
