I am talking a long road trip in my 2006 330i, it has 69K miles. What should I do to prep the car?
Spark plugs? (what are good spark plugs wires?)
Coolant flush?

- Check tire pressure.
- Make sure the brakes/tires are not not on their last breath and will last you the whole trip back and forth. It sucks to have to do a dealer visit in the middle of the trip.
- Carry a quart of oil just in case the oil low warning comes on.
- Check the coolant level. No need to do a flush unless the car asked for it.
- No need to do the spark plugs, those are not due for quite some time (usually around 100K when the car asks for them).
- Possibly carry a spare or plan for if you have a flat in the middle of nowhere.
- For winter travel, it is a good idea to have the usual winter prep.

Emergency stuff:
- Proper winter tires
- ice scraper/snow brush.
- Blanket
- Shovel
- flashlight
- Extra washer fluid
- (optional) Flare
- Cellphone (who doesn't have that now anyway!)
etc.

You know, there are two things missing from those lists:
1) tire chains/cables
2) gloves - gets really cold changing a tire or chaining up.

For chains, it depends where on is traveling. Usually chains are only allowed or required in limited mountainous locations where plows cannot keep up or ice forums and cannot be cleared on the roads. Most interstates and state or provincial highways do not require or allow them.
Gloves are a must anyway in the winter regardless. But good suggestion.

I am traveling up to Montreal next weekend. I don't expect that there will be snow.
I am worried about getting a flat. I got the flat tire message on my idrive. I think it might be the pressure.
How should i go about preparting for a flat on my road trip? keep an extra RFT in the drunk or a donut?
