Hello, I'm about to order a 2011 335xi sedan. Any opinions on the Harman Kardon vs the stock stereo? There are very little details on the stock system.

My 2008 335xi came with a Logic-7 system. The 2011 now has the premium system as an option. Looking for any opinions as to whether it's worth it or that much better than the stock system.

Thanks in advance.

If you listen to music a lot, then it's a must have. I honestly don't know what I would do if I had to sit through traffic without it. The sound is crisp and clear even at high volumes. Perhaps the best feature is the bass; there are subwoofers in the seat so you get the great slap and vibrations and all the deep notes of your music. If you only listen to the radio every once in a while it probably wouldn't be worth it. However if your going to be hooking up your iPod/iPhone or playing some CD's then yea must have.

Hoped that helped!

Thanks. I guess I was surprised this is an $835 option now when it was included with the 335xi in 2008. The Logic-7 system in my 2008 is really nice and clean.

The base radio does not come with any subwoofer (at least not in the E91 wagon), so you will be stuck with the wimpy door speakers if you do not do the upgrade.

I think it is a good option.

Subs are standard under the seats, but tweeters are not.

If you like cranking up the tunes absolutely go for the upgraded sound system.

Yes! It's worth every penny. You won't be sorry if you get this option, but you may regret it if you don't. Highly recommend you get it.

I was wrong - the base E91 does have subwoofers under the front seats - they are so terrible that I did not know they were there...

They actually work ok - but the base stereo has only about 15 W from the head unit.

Our 2009 E92 has a stock stereo and has a sub as well as component speakers both front and back. 4 woofers and 4 tweeters. It sounds quite good. Having said that, if you can afford it, why not get the HK upgrade.

Upon further research, I've found out that the Logic7 stereo has 420 watts of total output. Something I've been wondering for a while.

+1 There is a huge difference between the regular and the HK stereo.

Any idea as to the tweeter type in the front doors? The base 2011 sedan stereo has plenty of bass for a stock stere. My reference os Bass + 1, Treble +9 or so. In other words, it has almost no actual treble.

Would like to upgrade the tweeters if anybody knows what size they are, if they are interchangeable.
