creaking noise under car when clutch pedal depressed. i hate fixing things that arent broke but i hate breaking down. its working fine seems like some slight vibration when at speed. recently replaced clutch with full kit from bav auto so im thinking proably the slave is making the noise. my slave cylinder on my e30 went without warning leaving me to the tow truck, at that point i did the slave and the master but ive seen the master on this particular e36 (94) when i did my Clutch Arm Bushings from UUC -- seems they are set up slightly different on certain model years this looks like a major bitch to get out will probly have to cut it with a dremel is it worth it to just replace the slave or does the master have to be done at the same time also to the original question anyone heard this noise and then lose there slave? definitely sounds like its coming from that area , thanks again

The creaking isn't necessarily the slave. It could be the spring mechanism for the forks of the pressure plate when they are being depressed with the throw out bearing. Could also be the clutch fork on its pivot point inside the bellhousing just creaking when the slave plunger pushes it forward. If you haven't replaced the slave though, I would definitely do it now. They should be replaced everytime you change the clutch because the average life expectancy (that I've seen) falls somewhere around 1-1/2 clutches (so mid-life on your second clutch). If you replace the slave, you do not have to replace the clutch master. I pulled a clutch master with 140k miles on it and replaced it - probably wasn't even a reason to considering it looked good as new and no signs of leaks. Unlike the slave, the clutch master is inside the car and isn't exposed to all of the nasty weather that degrades the seals. If you do replace it though, don't dremel it. You'll have a much bigger mess on hand. Just unbolt it from its mounting brackets by the clutch pedal.

ya good advice and i think i will replace the slave , i would hope the creaking isnt from that other stuff u mentioned because i think it would be new with the kit no?
also let me elaborate on the master in this car, i took a good long look at it when i had everything out for the clutch arm bushings it was about a year ago so i dont remember exactly but the nut it welded to the peace that the master bolts into or exact opposite either way a wrench is NOT going to work like u said maybe it will always be fine because the way they have it set up on this 94 its as if they werent planning on anyone taking it out not in a traditional method i know it sounds weird but i read somewhere too that there are a couple variations of the master setup on the e36 mine happens to be one of those where u scratch your head and say "why the heck would they engineer it like that" lol:confused
i am going to do that slave though like u said theyre prone to failure being exposed to the elements i assume to over time even trace amounts of water in the brake fluid will corrode the seals i think thats what happened on my e30 thanks again
